My boyfriend thought his shoulder pain was due to pulling some muscles. After a couple of months of it getting worse…he thought …oh my Lord…I bet I have a torn rotor-cuff. We only wish it was so…
He went from those thoughts to the doctors finding a tumor on shoulder..(no problem, odds are that it is benign)...to hearing lung cancer with metastisis to shoulder and large bones… and 12-18 months???

I started logging this “journey” from MY perspective. The thoughts, feeling and poetry from someone who loves someone…who has cancer.

One step forward...Two steps back...Views: 872

Well, bless Wes’s hear. He was sick as a dog days 3-5 after his chemo last week. This past Tuesday he started feeling better. Wednesday he was feeling great! He had 3 big meals…came to Talladega with his brother in law to do some upkeep at his mothers house…went by my house to pick up some cd’s that a friend of his dropped by …he was worn out. I called him from Huntsville Wednesday evening and felt so relieved to hear things were on the upswing. I told him that I planned on coming to Bham from Huntsville and visit him the next day.

Thursday I called him 3 different times during the day and went to his voice mail. My first thoughts were he was worn out from the day before…then I thought he might be out and about with Greg again…but then I started to worry a little…he should have called me back at some pojnt during the day. I called Freida’s cell phone and got her voice mail and finally just called their house. Greg answered and I asked “Is everyone ok?” he said…”Oh..I guess noone has talked to you today.” What happened? Greg told me that they had been in the Emergency room with Wes all night and had got back home arounfd5:30 am. “What?” It was his gallbladder. My first thoughts and words were…Cancer????? He said no- he had a gall bladder attack.

Our thoughts consisted of everything from “bless his heart…he cant get a break to Thank God this happened now and not 3 rounds of chemo down the road. Later his immune system will be a lot weaker plus the fact that he will be taking injections of blood thinner everyday for this clinical trial he is a part of….sheesh.

Long story short, they gave him something for pain and told them to find a doctor to set up the surgery. Frieda has been trying to get Wes scheduled for surgery asap …especially since this will be putting off his chemo treatments
